Quick and Dirty:
My father died from leukemia when I was 2 so I grew up with just my sister and mom. I come from a very small farm town, graduating class of 160, and was raised on country music. My father was a brand inspector and rode bulls in the rodeo. I, however, am a city girl …mostly. There’s so much more to say but I don’t have time to type it all out. I’m out living.
I was a straight A student and played volleyball, softball and basketball. Worst subject was English and best subject was math and science. I graduated in 1999, woo class of ’99, and got my undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona in MIS and Entrepreneurship. Moved out to San Jose in July of ’04 and began my graduate studies in Human Factors and Ergonomics. I have since graduated, however, in December of 2008. Finally!
I currently reside in the foggy town of San Francisco, CA and visit home about twice a year to see my mom, sister and two nieces. I work full-time and still play volleyball. I’ve learned how to rock-climb and salsa dance and have recently taken up photography. I’m always taking on new things.
My career as an interaction designer has proven to be amazing. I work with some of the most creative and smartest people I’ve ever met. I has changed me a great deal and I’m guessing it will continue to do the same.
I also travel quite a bit now that I’m done with school. I try to take two international trips a year. So far I’ve been to Tanzania and Greece. I have South Africa and the Galapagos/Peru planned for this and next year. Can’t wait to go to Vietnam and Thailand soon as well. For someone who loves to explore and experience new things, international travel is like a drug. It’s a very expensive one as well.
